Natural treatments for dandruff

Dandruff is without a doubt one of the most common and uncomfortable scalp problems. While many associate dandruff with poor hygiene, in reality there are many causes : excessive scalp oiling, stress, allergies, and even fungus. That’s why we provide a few natural remedies to help fight dandruff.

It is important to realize that these treatments do not work in all cases, but the results depend on the type of dandruff. If dandruff is due to excessive oiling of the scalp, these treatments will help. If the cause is a fungus, you need to contact your doctor. He will probably prescribe you a shampoo available from a pharmacy.

What is dandruff?

Dandruff is an organic secretion of dead skin cells detached from the skin on the scalp. This is commonly referred to as flaking. People with dandruff shed an unusually large number of dead skin cells. As we know, new skin cells replace dead cells.

In addition to flaking, the symptoms of dandruff include itching and reddish scalp. The most common cause of dandruff is Malassezia fungus or seborrhea. Dry skin does not actually cause dandruff, although many people believe so.

However, it is important that you avoid the most intense sunshine at noon, as it can be dangerous. The best time to sunbathe is in the morning or afternoon after four o’clock. The intensity of the sun is much lower at these times. We recommend a walk so that the sun does not cause you any serious problems.
