The unfortunate truth is that air pollution is spreading and damaging our health. A cough for no major reason is one of them and is often accompanied by dark colored mucus. Many are already accustomed to such a chronic, irritating cough.

Both cough and mucus are symptoms given by our body that something dangerous has entered our body and therefore mucus is produced and coughing spells occur. The body defends itself and tries to keep dust and other harmful, foreign substances away from causing harm.

A cough is also a symptom of a cold or inflammation caused by a change in temperature, a weakened defense system, or a virus.

1. Thyme tea

The singer and other sound professionals love thyme tea. There is a reason for this, as thyme is a very good herb to eliminate infectious diseases of the vocal tract and lungs. 

It is also effective in reducing inflammation,  eliminating pain and helping to heal coughs. Thyme works antibacterially, killing microbes that cause coughing.

2. Lemon tea with honey and cinnamon

As you probably know,  lemon has very effective antibacterial properties. Admittedly, its acidity can be too much if it is in direct contact with the tonsils.

So it’s a good idea to combine a lemon with something soft, like honey. Honey is also a natural antibiotic and  kills bacteria  and acts as a protective “film”.

Cinnamon helps to loosen mucus and makes other substances work better.

3. Mint tea

Mint tea is like a rock star if you are looking for a tea cough. Mint helps to remove mucus and thus relieves breathing difficulties.

Sometimes breathing is really hard because the mucus is too thick. It is difficult for the body to expel mucus because it is attached to the airways.

Mint tea  is great for preventing cough inflammation and cough infection. If you want to enhance the mint tea, add a cinnamon stick to the tea cooking stage.

4. Rooibostee with lemon

Allergies include symptoms other than sneezing, runny nose and rash. Coughing can also be a symptom of an allergy. If you have an allergic cough, try rooibostet with lemon.
